Educator, UX Designer, Writer, and Creative Lyschel Shipp is Bringing Joy to Tech and Education
For me, teaching was finding creative ways to solve problems with limited resources. I had to be innovative and engage deeply in various aspects of the profession—from micro to macro levels. I learned how to balance and meet the needs of all stakeholders including the students I was designing for, state and district leaders with ambitious achievement goals, and educators who would use resources I designed as blueprints in their own classroom. I did this through teaching and learning, but also through research and publication, curriculum development, collaboration, and national conference presentations. I was easily drawn to user experience because of my insatiable curiosity. It’s what lead me to my role as a Design Thinking Facilitator at SMASH, what brought me much success in my decade of education, and ultimately here to this moment.
